To the More than 500 Members of the Graduating Class of 2015,

Congratulations! Achieving your high school diploma is a major milestone in your lives as students, citizens, and young adults. You are graduating at an exciting time for your City and for your generation. Educational opportunities are expanding. New industries are looking for passionate people with the right skills.

Camden’s class of 2015 includes musicians, athletes, and engineers. You have been accepted into over 120 colleges, universities, military branches, and training programs. With goals ranging from medical school to military service, music, and law, the path ahead is sure to include a great deal of sacrifice and hard work. But as some incredible Camden graduates recently reminded me at the 2015 Remarkable Graduates award ceremony, the perseverance and self-belief it takes to achieve your high school diploma is proof you can achieve any goal, no matter how difficult the path ahead.

Your diploma represents all the good choices, long hours, and hard work you’ve shown ever since you started kindergarten. But your diploma does not represent your efforts alone. It is a symbol of the care and commitment of your teachers and school staff, the vision of your school leaders, and the love and support of your families and community.

We are celebrating the Class of 2015’s accomplishments all month in our schools, in the press, and on social media. Check out our #collegeboundcamden page to see which other Camden grads are heading to the same campus as you this fall. Visit our YouTube channel for interviews with some of the Class of 2015’s Remarkable Graduates. And re-live graduation day 2015 all summer by tuning into CCSD-TV on channel 19 or 30 or subscribing to our YouTube channel.
