Camden's Evaluation Model

Camden City School District (CCSD) has committed to families in Camden that our schools will help every student graduate ready for college and careers. Making that commitment possible begins with great teaching in every classroom. When teachers succeed, students succeed.

Teachers who receive meaningful feedback on their classroom practice can adjust instruction and improve student achievement. Starting in school year 2013-14, CCSD implemented a new teacher evaluation and support system in accordance with New Jersey’s TEACHNJ Act. This system intends to provide educators a clear vision and expectations for excellence, clear feedback on performance they deserve, and aligned professional development and support.

The Camden City Public Schools has selected the Charlotte Danielson Evaluation Framework. This model was chosen for the types of components that will help teachers to improve the quality of instruction. This framework allows evaluators to observe teachers in the classroom which is a better guide for determining student achievement.
