MISION / MISSION
La Misión del Programa Bilingüe e Inglés como Segundo Idioma (ESL) es el de proveer a los estudiantes con limitaciones del idioma Ingles en el distrito escolar de Camden, una instrucción de alta calidad a través de la enseñaza en su idioma nativo y en Ingles. Esto facilitará integración en la comunidad y ayudara a convertirles en ciudadanos responsables.
El Programa Bilingüe y de Ingles como Segundo Idioma (ESL) sigue un desarrollo natural y provee servicios a los niños con limitación en el idioma Ingles en los grados PreK – 12th. El Programa es de transición mutilinguistico y multicultural.

The mission of the Bilingual/ESL Program is to provide the English Language Learners (ELLs) in the Camden City School District with high quality instruction in their native language and in English. This will enable the ELLs to interact and to be productive members in a diverse society.
The Bilingual/ESL Program in Camden City is developmental in nature and provides services to ELLs with limited English proficiency in grades PreK-12. The Program is transitional, multilingual, and multicultural.
METAS/GOALS
La meta del Programa de Educación Bilingüe y de ESL (Ingles como Segundo Idioma) es ayudar a los estudiantes a alcanzar su desarrollo académico y emocional con el propósito de que se integren exitosamente en el salón de clase regular al igual que en la comunidad. El Programa fomenta el mantenimiento de la identidad étnica, la lengua nativa y la herencia cultural.

The goal of the Bilingual Education and ESL Only Programs is to meet the cognitive and affective needs of the students in order to facilitate their successful integration into the mainstream English classroom and the community at large. In addition, the Program encourages students to maintain their identity, native language, and cultural heritage.

**The Bilingual Office serves the following languages : Spanish, Abkazian, Central Khmer, Chinese, Creoles and Pidgins, English, English-Middle (1100-1500), English-Old (ca.450-1100), French, French-Old (842-ca.1400), Pushto; Pashto, Spanish; Castilian, Urdu and Vietnamese.
The Department of Education launches a website for Spanish-Speaking families.
